Trader Joe’s, the little, quirky grocery that packs a powerful organic and preservative-free punch with its low-cost products, has made it to the North Texas marketplace.
The Net Zero Energy Home of Tomorrow shown at the State Fair of Texas this year was a fully furnished model home. It has all of the features that you might expect: solar panels, solar hot water system, LED lights, energy efficient appliances, and a smart heating and cooling system. Net Zero means that it produces as much energy as it uses.
If you asked interior designer Julie Reynolds what motivates her when thinking green she’ll tell you “If there is any doubt as to why a person would not want to live green they need to review their latest bills from the water company and their electric provider,” she says “It is simply the best way to extend one's income by lowering water and electric use, we immediately see the savings and ultimately will see the changes to our local economy.”
