Hello Partners and Fellow Youth Educators -
The Texas Wildlife Association Youth Education program called L.A.N.D.S. (Learning Across New Dimensions in Science) has 3 upcoming field days that will be held at Cedar Mountain Lodge in Scurry, TX. http://www.cedarmtnlodge.com/
Are You Available To Help?
* January 18, 2012 /285 - 7th graders from Adams Middle School in Grand Prairie
* February 28, 2012 / 360 - 7th graders from Coyle Middle School in Garland
We will start around 9:30am and finish by 2pm each day.
Students will rotate through 4 stations which are 30 minutes each. Since we have so
many kids, we are trying to put together enough volunteers to offer 2 sets of stations / rotations:
* Quail CSI / Scent Station
* Native Plant ID / Nature Walk
* Radio Telemetry
* Soils & Rain Fall Simulator
We have all of the materials you will need for the stations and will provide talking points.
All we need is your expertise, smile, and willingness to help teach kids about the outdoors,
Texas Natural Resources, wildlife, and the importance of being a good land steward.
** We also provide drinks, snacks, and lunch for all volunteers. **
Please let me know if you are available to help with any or all 3 dates.
More information will follow once you let me know you are available to assist.
Thank you in advance!
