Join your fellow LLELA Lovers for a run through the bottomland hardwood forest as we celebrate the opening of the newest addition to LLELA Nature Preserve, the Stewart Creek Trail.

The Woods and Wetlands 6K+

Explore the bottomland hardwood forest along the Bittern Marsh Trail and be among the first to explore the new Stewart Creek Trail during the spring Run LLELA event! This four-mile trail run starts at 8 a.m.

The Earth Day Dash

There's space for the whole family on the trail. Join us at 8:30 a.m. for a mad dash along Fish Hatchery Road. Ever wondered what is on the other side of the dam? Did you know that LLELA is also home to the 170-year old private Ritter Cemetery? Curious about where our citizen scientists and biologists conduct their world renown avian research? Well here is your chance to see a side of the preserve closed to the public. This paved mile-long route will take you from the top of the Lewisville Lake Dam, down to Fish Hatchery Road, and deep into the forested path to the Bird Banding Station and Ritter Cemetery. Be sure to bring a hat, shades, and sunscreen for this race! This mile-long race starts at 8:30 a.m.
