New parks director James Orloski will give an overview of projects already rolling and those proposed in the 2023 bond package and the FY 2023 city budget, both currently in development. He says a top priority is to build strong partnerships with all the friends groups, volunteers and neighborhood associations.
Orloski has over 15 years of state and local government experience in the Phoenix city manager’s office, city council office and city clerk department. He previously served as deputy parks and recreation director for the city.
He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Arizona and an MBA from the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University. He and his wife, Cate, a physician at John Peter Smith Hospital, enjoy traveling, cooking, hiking and biking, going to concerts, and spoiling their two dogs.
