Communities Foundation of Texas’ North Texas Giving Day is an 18-hour online giving event designed to empower every person to give back to their community. Choose among hundreds of local nonprofits to donate to, including dozens of environmental and animal welfare groups. Matching funds are used to encourage donations. Early donations welcome too.

Lights Out Texas - Statewide (Sept. 6-Oct. 29)
Lights Out Texas is an intiative launched by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology with support from nonprofits including the Texas Conservation Alliance and Texan by Nature to raise awareness about the dangers of light pollution for migrating birds.
The program asks homeowners, businesses and managers of tall buildings to eliminate or reduce lighting between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. during the peak of the fall migration, Sept. 6 to Oct. 29, 2022.
Arlington Conservation Council: What to Put in Recycling Bin - Online
Misty Adams, city of Arlington’s interim environmental service manager, will give an overview of recycling and what is appropriate for curbside. She will highlight key problems in Arlington’s recycling stream and explain how residents can become better recyclers.
