Perot Museum: The Shape of Matter Through an Artist's Eye - Dallas (Oct. 21-April 20)

Showcasing the jewelry creations of renowned designer extraordinaire Paula Crevoshay, The Shape of Matter – Through An Artist’s Eye exhibit will open at the Perot Museum of Nature and Science Oct. 21, 2021, and run through April 20, 2022.

As part of the Perot Museum’s commitment to create enticing content that inspires minds through nature and science, this exhibit provides an innovative look at how nature and art connect.

In addition to approximately 70 pieces inspired by nature, including a world museum debut, The Shape of Matter – Through An Artist’s Eye will include loose gems and minerals, all displayed within their respective crystal systems. The exhibition illuminates the link between minerals, gems and jewelry while providing a path to learn more about intricate crystal structures.

Museum general admission is $20 for adults (13-64), $13 for youth (2-12) and $18 for seniors (65+). Museum general admission is free for members. Children under 2 are always free.

EPA: Training On Proposed Methane Rules - Zoom (Thru Nov. 18)

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is taking a significant step forward in fighting the climate crisis through a proposed rule that would reduce methane and other harmful pollutants from the oil and natural gas industry. 

To help engage with our stakeholders on the proposed oil and natural gas methane rule, EPA will host three half-day training events. The training will provide: background information on the oil and gas production process; an overview of the proposed rules; panel discussions with environmental justice communities, tribes, and small business stakeholders; and information on how to effectively engage in the regulatory process.

This event will be open to the public; however, the targeted audiences are communities/environmental justice stakeholders, tribes, and small business stakeholders. These events will be held using Zoom, and a toll-free call-in number will be available.

2021 Green Source DFW Sustainable Leadership Awards - Zoom

Celebrate North Texas environmental heroes by tuning into the 10th annual Green Source DFW Sustainable Leadership Awards online. 

The annual green awards gala, hosted by Green Source DFW and its parent nonprofit the Memnosyne Institute, will be held virtually for the second year due to the pandemic.

This year’s event will be held Thursday, Nov. 18, 2021, at 6 p.m. on Zoom.

Emcees will be Wendel Withrow, Green Source DFW director, and Victoria Howard.
