Bill Coleman will speak on  Marker Trees from a Texas Surveyor’s View.  He will explain how to look for clues that hint at the history of a landscape and address the ways trees are used as markers, not just by American Indians but also as references to boundary corners throughout the settlement and construction of our current civil infrastructure. Bill is a Professional Land Surveyor and a Geographic Information Systems Professional. He is on the Board of Directors of the Geographic and Land Information Society and the GIS Certification Institute, and is also a member of the Denton County Historical Commission.  In addition, he’s a Certified Texas Master Naturalist and member of the Texas Historic Tree Coalition.
