Due to the widespread loss of natural habitat, there is an acute need to include native plants in our landscapes to mitigate their scarcity in the wild. Only native plants can provide for the insect diversity necessary to maintain our bird and pollinator populations, as well as other aspects of a healthy ecology.  This class illustrates the wealth of Texas plant species and the myriad of unique and beautiful plants we have to choose from.
