The Region C Water Planning Group (RCWPG) will hold a public hearing to receive verbal comments regarding the adopted 2026 Region C Initially Prepared Plan (IPP). The Region C area includes Collin, Cooke, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Freestone, Fannin, Grayson, Henderson (partial), Jack, Kaufman, Navarro, Parker, Rockwall, Tarrant and Wise Counties, Texas. Comments submitted by the public regarding the IPP will be utilized in the development of the final 2026 Region C Regional Water Plan.

The RCWPG will accept written comments upon posting of this notice through 5:00 P.M. on July 18, 2025, and will accept verbal comments on the IPP at the above-described hearing. See website link below for details.

ACTION ALERT: The group known as Preserve North Texas is opposed to Region C's recommendation for the Marvin Nichols Reservoir, which would destroy more than 66,000 acres of hardwood forest. The coalition, which includes the Texas Conservation Alliance, encourages environmentalists to provide in-person or written comments about this controversial project.
