Kim Conrow, immediate past-president of the Native Plant Society of Texas, found a special prairie, a part of the greater Fort Worth Prairie ecoregion, during the pandemic. Beginning in the fall of 2020, the prairie became like a second home to Kim and her family, friends and dogs — a place of solace, comfort and love. Exploring the northeast Benbrook prairie taught them perseverance and brought hope, with physical and mental health benefits in these difficult times.

This 700-acre site has been designated as an Environmentally Sensitive Area by the Army Corps of Engineers. It is a mixed use area where horseback riders, walkers, hunters and fishermen all have access. Kim created a month-by-month slide documentary of her many saunters, which she will share.
