Guest speaker: George Bristol will talk about his new book, Texas State Parks: The First 100 Years, 1923–2023. The book examines the history of one of Texas’s most treasured assets: our state parks. From the legislative establishment of the original Texas State Parks Board to the present, the development of our state and national parks over the last one hundred years has depended upon an evolving concept of public lands for public use and enjoyment.

For our June meeting, it will be desserts only. If you would like to satisfy your sweet tooth, please plan to arrive around 6:40-6:45 p.m. Please bring your favorite cookie, bar or cake to our meeting to share with other attendees, and don't forget to bring your own non-alcoholic drink of choice. We will encourage guests to partake of desserts prior to the start of the meeting.
