The Evolution of Field Guides hosted live from Duluth via Zoom with Laura Erickson.

Laura Erickson is a 2014 recipient of the American Birding Association’s prestigious Roger Tory Peterson Award, scientist, teacher, writer, wildlife rehabilitator, professional blogger, public speaker, photographer, American Robin and Whooping Crane Expert for the popular Journey North educational website, Science Editor at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, and host of public radio’s “For the Birds.”

How have bird field guides changed over the decades? Which were the most innovative field guides of all time? The answer may surprise you! A brief meeting of the membership will be followed by Laura’s presentation on birding field guides and their evolution through time.
