Robert W. Haley, M.D. will present a program on climate change and our health. Dr. Haley is Professor of Internal Medicine and Director of the Division of Epidemiology in the Internal Medicine Department at UT Southwestern Medical Center and holder of the U.S. Armed Forces Veterans Distinguished Chair for Medical Research Honoring America's Gulf War Veterans.

Dr. Robert Haley has spent much of his career researching Gulf War illness, which afflicts an estimated 200,000 military veterans who served in the first Gulf War in 1990-91. He made it his goal to raise issues of air quality and public health among his fellow doctors 15 years ago. Texas physicians developed policy on environmental health and took a unified stand before the public and officials. They helped to forestall construction of 11 new coal-fired power plants.
