This series of classes will be held at Marilyn Simmons’ home. Marilyn, often referred to as FarmGirl and the Oil Lady, has more than 15 years with gardening experience. Herbs are a special passion and she is always ready to share her joy and the lovely fragrances of working with both fresh and dried herbs.

Supplies will be included in the fee and each week student will leave with herb project.

Class 1: Thursday, Jan. 30, 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m

Baby Carrots with Honey and Dill: Each participant will jar up this recipe of refrigerator carrot pickles.

Clean, Cut and dry herbs for the next class: We will prepare herbs for drying. Each person will be able to take a bundle of herbs to hang and dry for the next week’s class. We will prepare an herb blend the following week.

Bath Salts: We will assemble a large bowl of fragrant bath salts and divide. Each participant will take home bath salt.

 

Class 2: Thursday, Feb. 6, 7 p.m to 8:30 p.m

Texas Chili Powder: Each person will prepare and package custom, freshly made chili powder to take home with them.

Herb de Provence: We will prepare our dried herbs and prepare this lovely blend of dried herbs. We will have a tasting with our new blend.

Herbed Butter: We will assemble a recipe of herb butter, sample on some yummy bread and have a great sample to take home.

 

Class 3: Thursday, Feb. 13, 7 p.m to 8:30 p.m

Pecan Basil Pesto on Spaghetti Squash: Students will prepare basil pesto for sampling.

Prepare and Bake Rosemary Rounds: Each person can sample and have some of this excellent treat to take home.

Roller Blend: Each person will prepare a roller blend of herbal essential oil to take home.

 

$10 per class.
