Justification of the activity: This year (2012) City of Coppell and it's surroundings has been hit with a hail the size of baseball, very strong winds and heavy rain, after last year having one most severe drought in the history of our city. All this phenomena is new for the cohabitants of Coppell. We want to have a gathering of brainstorming with all of the community to produce a collage: with images and written testimonials of the changes we have observed in our climate during our lifetime. People of all ages are invited to a fun “hands on” artistic activity. Bring you photos, stories or send them with a brief description of where and when the extreme weather occurred to mboccalandro@dccdu.com
Across the planet now we see ever more flood, ever more drought, ever more storms. People are dying, communities are being wrecked — the impacts we’re already witnessing from climate change are unlike anything we have seen before.
But because the globe is so big, it’s hard for most people to see that it’s all connected. That’s why, on May 5, we will Connect the Dots. Because climate change is bearing down on us, and we simply can’t wait. The world needs to understand what’s happening, and you’re the people who can tell them.
