David Cowan, North Texas Municipal Water District, and Mac Martin, Texas A&M Forest Service

On Texas Arbor Day weekend, Nov. 6-7, over 120 volunteers gathered on the banks of Wilson Creek in Mckinney to protect water quality and strengthen the environment. They planted over 1,600 flood-adapted native trees to reduce erosion and mitigate the impacts of stormwater runoff into lavon lake, the primary water source for 2 million North Texans.
