Natives provide seeds and berries and attract insects for most birds’ diets. They also give shelter and nesting sites. Plus learn pointers about what to plant for winter bird feeding.
A Texas Master Naturalist and past president (twice) of the Fort Worth Audubon Society, Charley has led birding trips all over the state. His avian adventures have ranged far afield to Costa Rica, Ecuador, Europe, and Canada, but his favorite destination is a lot closer to home — Big Bend National Park.
Charley’s love of nature calls him to volunteer at local parks leading nature walks for enthusiasts of all ages. He regularly helps out at area native plant endeavors, including the Fielder House garden, Knapp Heritage pollinator garden, the greenhouse for the Molly Hollar Wildscape, and the gardens at River Legacy Science Center. He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from UTA.
