Ecoblossom Nursery Staff Position

We are a small local garden store with passion for native plants. We are looking to add a dedicated, diligent, dependable, knowledgeable person to our staff. We are looking for someone who takes initiative and does not always have to be given a task to do. Person that is well organized and has attention to detail. This is not a sales position. There is lifting, walking, bending and moving plants around and it consists mostly of working outdoors. Some office work may be required. 

Knowledge of plants and plant care, especially native Texas plants is a must.

This is a valued and important position in the company with a degree of autonomy. If you like to work outside and working by yourself but with a team player attitude, this position might be for you.

Some (but not all) duties are as follows: 

-    Pulling weeds

-    Potting plants

-    Trimming plants

-    Moving plants

-    Watering plants

-    Loading and unloading trailers

-    Transplanting and planting plants

-    Plant deliveries

-    Keeping shop clean

-    Scouting for pests and diseases

-    Pest and disease treatment

-    Applying fertilizers and pesticides

-    Unload delivery trucks 

-    Transport plants around the nursery

-    Maintain clean work areas

-    General housekeeping

Requirements:

-    Responsible, flexible, dependable and punctual.

-    Ability to work in all weather conditions.

-    Plant knowledge, particularly native Texas plants. Able to identify plants and have knowledge of how to care for them.

-    Ability to work alone.

-    Attention to detail.

-    Ability to keep organized and great follow through.

-    Clean driver’s license and ability to safely drive a high roof panel van or small box truck if needed. 

Hours change seasonally, but typically are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mon- Fri, average 25-30 hours a week.

Starting pay $15/hr or more depending on experience and skillset. This is currently a part time position but has a potential to turn full time. If you are the right candidate but only interested in full time, we encourage you to apply.
