Description of Individual or organization

Corey has been a busy Program Director for the DFW Texas Campaign for the Environment office, helping to stave off the Governor's tree legislation, but he's also helped the Dallas Green Alliance stay afloat and relevant to city elections and politics.

Leadership (Nominee demonstrates leadership through example, knowledge, attitude)

As TCE Dallas Program Director, he's aided just about every recent local environmental fight besides tending his own group's agenda on solid waste issues.

As a volunteer, Corey's taken a leadership role in DGA, as well as done volunteer work for a number of local campaigns and causes.

Environmental Impact (Nominee demonstrates a positive impact on the local environment via policy change, product offering, significant volunteer contribution or other achievement)

There haven't been many environmental fights or progressive campaigns in North Texas that haven't used the TCE canvassers, and Corey's program work to advance their cause. He and TCE are the only consistent voices on solid waste issue in North Texas, and are looked to for their leadership on this issue.

Community Impact (Nominee demonstrates commitment to DFW green community through involvement with causes, business ventures or organizations)

Instead of only doing just his TCE job, which is full time, Corey has also become an integral part of the all-volunteer Dallas Green Alliance leadership and helped steer the group in the recent city council elections that finally gave us a majority to defeat the Trinity Toll Road and perhaps, do many other good things. His and TCE leadership on the "Tree Bill" helped provided the first real victory for local control in Texas since HB 40 was passed in 2015.
