Litter Stomp is a chance for community groups to band together and clean up Fort Worth neighborhood streets and parks. The first 1,000 participants registered by Oct. 17 will receive cleanup supplies, including gloves, trash bags and Litter Stomp T-shirts.

Zac Trahan, Texas Campaign for the Environment's DFW director, was home schooled as a child in the Hill Country outside Austin. His deep connection with and respect for the natural world has only strengthened since joining TCE in the fall of 2002. Zac has worked in all three TCE offices and was the Houston Program Director from 2008-2011. He believes our common problems call for collaborative solutions and that protecting our future means protecting our shared surroundings.

James Dunkley, trails historian and chairman of the Historic Trails Committee of the Irving Heritage Society, will speak at this special event. He has received the Certificate of Commendation “for distinguished service in the field of historic preservation” from the Texas Historical Commission. James will speak on the correlation of two accounts of Texas history; Roemer's Texas 1845-1847, by Dr. Ferdinand Roemer, and Empire of the Summer Moon, by S.C. Gwynne. This meeting offers a rare and special opportunity to learn from an expert on Texas history. It will also be an opportunity for our researchers to learn from a master. Join the Swarm and take part in a week-long campaign of global actions to Save the Bees. Together we will Pester the Pesticide Pushers and Swarm together to BAN Neonicotinoids and other poisonous chemicals. We need to keep the bees alive to pollinate our food!

This workshop is for educators with a passion for gardening with children. It will cover the basics of school-year organic gardening, how to connect school curriculum to gardening activities, gather ideas for school garden programs and how to implement a safe habitat for wildlife and pollinators. Learn the links between individual behavior and changes that school gardens inspire and the larger impacts on families, schools and communities. This workshop will cover:

2. Native and well adapted plants
