Learn how to make great compost in your own backyard and help us spread the word about the many benefits of composting! Whether you’re just starting out or have been composting for years, this class is designed to meet your needs and covers topics such as Composting 101, a history of compost, pile building techniques, vermicomposting and hands-on pile building practice at our UTA composting site.

    ▪    Class graduates receive books, workshop materials, compost bin and a compost thermometer.

    ▪    Attendance required on both days.

Celebrate America Recycles Day with a family bike ride from the Courthouse on the Square to ECO-W.E.R.C.S. Resource Recovery Park and back again. This leisurely bike ride takes you along the rail trail, and will show you where the recycling is processed in Denton.

9:00 a.m.: Meet at the Courthouse on the Square; Quick bike repair and bike safety

9:30 a.m.: Ride departs for the Pratt Recycling Facility

10:00 a.m.: Tour of the recycling facility

11:00 a.m.: Depart back to the square

Arlington residents may bring old computers, cell phones, monitors, keyboards, printers, radios, VCRs, video cameras and other small household electronics for recycling. Proof of Arlington residency is required.

Please schedule bulky item pickups for larger household items and electronics such as refrigerators, televisions, washers and dryers by calling Republic Services at 817-317-2000 or emailing us at recycling@arlingtontx.gov.
