Events that have a musical component

Since 1999, the White Rock Lake Foundation has presented the annual Festival on the shores of White Rock Lake. A Dallas favorite fun event for the entire family! Children’s area, pet adoptions, boat rides, food, wine, art and music.
Admission is $5.00 (Children under 12 free)

Katy’s Picnic is an outdoor picnic and party at Reverchon Park in Dallas (3505 Maple Ave, 75201) for approx. 5,000 people featuring the annual 5k Run, Katy Kids Dash, live entertainment and food stations from Dallas’ best restaurants on Thursday, May 12, 2010, 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. The event raises money for the completion and maintenance of the Katy Trail. The Katy Trail is Dallas’s most popular and important park and recreation facility, which runs through the heart of urban Dallas.

Earth Day Dallas hopes to catalyze a "green" movement in North Texas by staging a two-day event on April 22nd and 23rd over several city blocks in the Dallas Arts District.  We anticipate 500 civic, corporate and non-profit participants engaged in an event that will be the biggest and best Earth Day celebration in this part of the United States.  Sponsors currently include:

    * The Environmental Protection Agency
    * D Magazine
    * The Nature Conservancy
    * Chevrolet
    * Dallas Independent School District
    * Half Price Books

This will be the seminal event in an ongoing movement to showcase green business and civic efforts that improve North Texas and the lives of North Texans.  Events will focus on entertaining, inspiring and educating attendees with various ways to think, work and live green by showcasing emerging green technology and providing eco-friendly activities. 

    * Up to 50,000 visitors in the downtown Arts District (accessible by DART).

The cost of the event remains the same: free for non profits; 25.00 for
businesses or for profit groups; 30.00 for food vendors.
If you have attended OCED in the past you should be pre approved, all new
vendors must complete a simple pre approval form before you can register.

Sunday, May 8, 10 am to 4 pm. Mother’s Day Concert with The Women’s Chorus of Dallas.
If you buy a concert ticket through TWCD, you receive free admission to Texas Discovery Gardens. The concert ends with a butterfly release and a song inside our conservatory. To release a butterfly, contact us. Butterflies are $25, and we have limited numbers. Make it a day! Enjoy educational booths, crafts, and more from 10 am to 3 pm. The butterfly house will be closed at 4 pm except for concert ticket holders.
