Native plant sale featuring organically home grown native plants by White Rock Lake Chapter members in native Blackland Prairie soil in extreme conditions for heartiness and extreme drought tolerance.

Edible landscapes are one of the hottest trends in garden design. Utiliz­ing areas in your landscape to grow edibles is a great way to add food to your table and reduce your grocery bill. This program teaches you how to incorporate edible plants into your home gar­den and landscape by taking advantage of their ornamental value. You will learn how herbs, fruits and vegetables can add to the colors and textures of your permanent landscape combin­ing both aesthetics’ and functionality.

Please bring your favorite work gloves, shovel, litter picker upper, or gardening tools.

Wear appropriate clothing for the weather and for working in a natural area (long pants, long sleeves, sturdy shoes, hat).

Water and snacks will be available.

The day-long event features presentations about cacti and succulents accompanied by sale of unusual and rare plants and art pottery.

Shop for native and adapted plants from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.

Become a member of Texas Discovery Gardens and you'll get access to the Members’ Plant Sale that allows you to shop before the Saturday rush. Members also receive 10 percent off plants.

The purpose of the Native Plant Society of Texas is to promote the conservation, research and utilization of native plants and plant habitats of Texas through education, outreach and example. As such, the Dallas chapter implemented a native garden grant program. A few of these grant recipients will be at the meeting to show their gardens, their purpose what they've accomplished and their future plans. Please join us in congratulating the hardworking efforts of these native plant advocates:  Tenison Park Pollinator Garden, Big Bear Native American Museum, Dallas County Master Gardener's Rain

The sale features a large variety of plant species grown at the Greenhouse by Wildscape volunteers, including: ground covers, perennials, shrubs, vines and trees. Many species of grasses are provided by Blue Stem Nursery. $2.50, $4, $7, $15 and up. Proceeds benefit the wildscape.
