She has lived in North Texas over forty years, and sympathizes with our special gardening challenges. “Natives in the Suburbs!” will explain why natives are a great choice for our landscapes, what natives will perform best here and how to include natives in a way that will keep you and your neighbors happy.

We’re looking for volunteers to help plant trees on Reforestation Day. We’ll meet at the Clinton Pocket Park at Clinton Street and Jefferson Boulevard in the morning, and work in teams to plant trees. We ask that volunteers bring shovels, rakes, gloves, etc.

Gardening in containers is a great way to grow your horticulture skills. If you have a small yard or patio that needs a pop of ornamental color, are frustrated with the poor soils on your property, or just simply don’t have the space to grow your fruits and veggies, then give container gardening a try. This class will also focus on creating beautiful containers for the holidays.
