This program teaches you how to become more water efficient in your "urban orchard,” what plants and varieties work best in our area, the basics of pest control, proper pruning methods and other practical ways to increase production. "So You Think You Want Bees" is a beginner-level presentation provided by Trinity Valley Beekeepers Association for soon-to-be beekeepers in the Dallas area. This winter class is taught by Ryan Giesecke, president of TVBA. Ryan will talk through reasons to keep bees, considerations and concerns involved in urban beekeeping, and what can be done now to prepare for your upcoming first spring, as well as touching on hive styles and options for getting your first bees.

Organizers for Mighty Earth's #CleanItUpTyson campaign will be delivering the thousands of petitions they’ve collected in the past few months to local Tyson Foods facilities. 

Here in Dallas, in less than three months, 1,400 people have signed petitions asking Tyson Foods, America's largest meat company, to reduce their pollution and protect our water. Over 55 organizations and small businesses, representing over 35,000 Texans, have also signed our coalition letter asking Tyson to do the right thing.
