Class is hosted by the Dallas Sierra Club. You’ve got a few local weekend backpacks under your belt; now you want to do more: a fly-drive or multi-night outing, or even try a cold weather trip. This class will cover advanced backpacking tips and skills including winter camping, fly-drive planning and equipment, bear barrel packing, and week-long trekking. The fee for the class is $15 for Sierra Club members and $20 for non-members (CASH or CHECK ONLY - NO CHARGES). Handout provided. Continue to encourage your child's love of the outdoors all year long with Trinity River Audubon Center's Nature Club. The program will be held the 3rd Sunday of every month, beginning Sept 16. Nature Club is designed to encourage children, ages 5-12, to be active stewards of our lands, while at the same time showing children all the wonders of the nature around them.

Event hosted by the Arlington Conservation Council. Renowned Texas Master Naturalist Jim Varnum will lead a one-hour plant walk. His walks are always very interesting, educational and informative.

Following the plant walk, City Councilwoman Lana Wolff will draw the winning ticket in ACC's Rangers Ballpark Suite fund raiser. Tickets are available for $20 each.

After the drawing, volunteers will be watering, weeding and cleaning up in the park.

Volunteer with the Texas Land Conservancy as it battles the invasive plant species at the Oak Cliff Nature Preserve. The organization is preparing for a renovation project that will ensure everyone has access to the beauty of this preserve.

Water provided. Wear closed toed shoes, and bring work gloves if you have them. Only 20 spots available!

Event is hosted by DFW Greenweavers. We will cover the construction and use of a full sized solar dehydrator.

You will receive:

* Materials list
* Hands on training on how to build a solar dehydrator
* A full understanding of how convection draw can dry food better than electrical food dehydrators.

Price is $80 to cover materials. Minimum of 6 people required.

We’ll be building a BIG one but it can be scaled down to any size to fit your needs.
