Find out about an ecovillage starting outside of Rockwall that will
be off-grid with solar electricity, solar hot water, rainwater
harvesting, and graywater recycling--all designed to Permaculture
principles and practices. Zero energy homes will be built to your design
and size specifications. Grow all your own food organically and grow
additional produce to sell if you wish. In other words, live sustainably
in an intentional commuity. Everyone owns a home and crop area in
his/her/their own name. Other land (community buildings, pond, workshop,
barn, play areas, wooded area, etc.) is held in in the community's
name. This free talk will cover all aspects of the village via Power
Point and then allow ample time for your questions.

Collin County Greenweavers is a meetup in Collin Country that is
based on the wildly popular and successful DFW Greenweavers group.

Businesses that market to the "green" and sustainable marketplace are welcome to attend our monthly meetings.

We are dedicated solely to helping each other grow our businesses by
trading referrals and leads and developing our skills for marketing and
business growth.

Visitors can tour native gardens outside, including the stunning Grande
Allee fountain. Inside, a tropical butterfly house includes hundreds of
free flying butterflies with daily butterfly releases at 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. The annual monarch tagging demonstrations will take place at 11:30 a.m. and 3 p.m.
New in 2011, the Texas Discovery Gardens Green Exhibit celebrates

hand with natural treats, eco-friendly transportation, and more.
Sculptures and paintings throughout Texas Discovery Gardens connect art
with nature, featuring the work of Silvia Thornton, Anne Neal, Dan and
Lori Dudley, student sculptors at El Centro College, and more. We are
also proud to unveil a public art display with the City of Dallas from
Vancouver artists Michael Vandermeer and Cheryl Hamilton, featuring
stunning glass and steel nature-themed pieces that hang from our two

“DFW Greenweavers is a
power group of local, sustainable businesses that have been operating in
the Metroplex as experts in their given Green fields.”

We will be following our synergizing format that we did last time. When people arrive you will be broken into three groups:

1) Home and Buildings

2) Food and Gardening

3) Health and Lifestyle

The first part of the meeting will be spent socializing with the

people in your industry. There has been a great response from people

spending time with others that are in their given fields.

After that you will draw a business card from the hat. You will then

have a 5 minute 1-1 with that person and you will be giving their 30

second commercial! This was a HUGE success last time. Lots of FUN!

The South Central Regional Committee Leadership Summit

The
USGBC North Texas Chapter is very excited to be hosting our Region's
Fourth Annual SCRC Leadership Summit. Over the past months, the planning
team has researched and identified critical topics to be considered
with survey input from many of you.

In
addition, in the coming months, the team will coordinate session
content and speakers that address some of the latest advancements in
sustainable thinking within our chapters and beyond.

We
hope each Regional Chapter elevates the 2011 Leadership Summit for
participation and extending leadership training, relationship building
and cutting edge programming to the Chapters’ BOD’s, committee leaders
and volunteers.  Each attendee will need to bring
an appetite for learning but a willingness to engage in the conversation
- a conversation that shares with others:
