​Lights Out Texas is a campaign to turn off lights at night between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. during spring and fall wildbird migrations to help protect nocturnally migrating birds.

Originally launched in 2017 by Houston Audubon, Lights Out Texas has grown statewide and is facilitated by Audubon Texas in collaboration with conservation non-profits, universities, governmental organizations and Texans dedicated to the conservation of birds.

The full fall migration starts Aug. 15 and ends on Nov. 30.
The peak fall migration is Sept. 6 through Oct. 29.

Holiday at the Arboretum, presented by Reliant, features three large-scale outdoor exhibits ready to dazzle and get people in the holiday spirit. They include The Christmas Village, The 12 Days of Christmas and the 50-foot-tall Dazzling Musical Tree.

This year’s reimagined event promises an even more immersive and magical experience for visitors of all ages.

Bring your own pooch or meet the adoptable dogs from Dallas Pets Alive. We will hike the trails, meet the dogs and pick up trash along the way.

All ages welcome.

Total Energies has applied for a Special Use Permit(SUP) to drill and hydraulically fracture aka frack new wells to extract methane gas from their Highpoint site located at 2400 E. Arbrook Blvd. in Arlington

These are are a class of wells called allocation wells whose legality is being examined by the Supreme Court of Texas.

We will be posting more information as it becomes available. 

Join For the Love of the Lake every Second Saturday of each month to volunteer time towards picking up trash and litter at designated areas throughout White Rock Lake Park.

Stop by the office located at the northeast corner of Buckner and Garland Rd to pick up supplies, and help us keep the shores of White Rock Lake clean and sparkling!

Join Padillacs if you want to kayak or canoe for FREE while helping us pick up debris from the lake.

Then she and Don Young will lead participants in a hike in the moonlight. Moon song singing, Moon shadow dancing and howling at the Moon guaranteed. Before, during,and after the walk, Chris Emory will offer viewing of the Moon through his Moon telescope and talk about how he as a photographer captures the night sky.
