Fort Worth Botanic Garden: Butterflies in the Garden - Fort Worth (March 1-April 30
]Exhibit visitors will have the chance to see a diverse collection of butterflies from various parts of the world, including Central, North and South America, Africa, and Asia. The Blue Morpho (Morpho peleides), known for its striking beauty, is one of the most popular butterflies on display. Additionally, local favorites will also be showcased.
Lights Out Texas: Spring Peak Migration - Texas (April 22-May 12)
Texas is a major flyway for migrating birds. Outdoor lighting can be deadly for the wildbirds who mostly travel by night. The lights distract and disorient them leading to exhaustion and building collisions. Houston and Dallas are ranked in the top three most dangerous cities for migrating birds.
Building owners, businesses, developers and homeowners can help protect migrating birds by turning off all non-essential nighttime lighting on buildings and other structures from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. each night.
Migration season runs March 1-June 15. Peak migration is April 22-May 12.

2025 Texas Buckeye Walks - Dallas (March 15-30)
Volunteers carry on the Buckeye Trail Walks in the Great Trinity Forest — a longtime tradition started by Dallas environmentalist Ned Fritz in the 1980s. The spots fill up fast. Reserve now.

Native Prairies Association of Texas, Fort Worth Chapter: Soldier Spring Park Bioblitz - Parker County
The park was used as a campsite for confederate soldiers. The springs are still found in the park. Your observations will be automatically uploaded to the Soldier Spring Park iNaturalist project.

Whole Earth Provision Co.: Banff Mountain Film Festival - Austin
The festival will feature films that will take you to stunning landscapes and remote cultures and bring you up close and personal with adrenaline-packed action sports.
Proceeds from the shows will benefit our Texas State Parks.
There will be two programs with different films: a matinee at 2 p.m. and an evening show at 7 p.m. Ticket prices (including fees) are $35 for the matinee and $40 for the evening show.
This will be the 18th year that Whole Earth Provision Co. has hosted the World Tour in Austin and the 12th year that Texas State Parks has been the beneficiary of the event. The Austin audiences are among the largest on the World Tour.
Sustainable Denton: Creating Monarch Habitat - Denton
Learn how to create a Monarch oasis with a representative of the Native Plant Society of Texas. From planting native, including milkweed, and providing a water source, participants will learn all the ins and outs of gardening for these amazing pollinators. Ten grab and grow box will be raffled off at the end of the event.

Friends of Oak Cliff Parks: Edible, Medicinal and Useful Plants of the Blackland Prairie Trail Walk - Dallas
Master Naturalist and urban foraging expert Bob Richie will lead a two-hour walk through the native prairie meadow and woods at the 78-acre Kiest Conservation Area in Oak Cliff. The Texas prairie tract features more than 150 wildflower species, identified by master naturalist legend Jim Varnum 12 years ago.
Richie, a Dallas native, has been an amateur naturalist since an early age.
The walk will start with a quick botany lesson on how to positively ID the plants we are looking for and then we'll search out and sample some of the fresh and tasty offerings that grow naturally in our area. We'll also learn about the useful and medicinal plants that can be found locally.
Meet at the outdoor classroom. The parking area is in the field at the southeast corner of the intersection of Hampton Road and Keist Boulevard. Park next to the kiosk. Closed toed shoes are recommended. Water and insect repellant will be provided.

Learn about owls in your own back yard from Window to the Wild! You will see them up-close and even have your photograph made with them. Live birds will be the focus of this presentation: the Great Horned Owl, Screech Owl and American Kestrel. Learn about the things they eat, where they are found and what makes them so unique. Tips on you can take to preserve their environment and help to save these beautiful creatures.
