TCEQ: Public Comment on State Methane Emissions Standards for Oil and Gas Facilities - Online (Thru Dec. 31)

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) is accepting public comments on the proposed rulemaking (Rule Project Number 2024-027-113-AI).

The proposed rulemaking (Rule Project Number 2024-027-113-AI) will address applicability, emission standards, monitoring, recordkeeping, testing, and reporting requirements for designated oil and gas facilities. The rules would set emission standards and/or control requirements for emissions of greenhouse gases (primarily methane) from existing facilities in this industry.

All comments should reference proposed rule project number 2024-027-113-AI. All written stakeholder comments must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, December 31, 2024.

Visiting exhibit features talking animatronic members of the Bug Squad. Guests will learn about each of their superhero stories, super abilities and the unique traits they use each day.

Families are invited to explore various science topics and gain an appreciation for diversity through hands-on exhibits and play areas. Get some air on a trampoline and jump like a grasshopper, explore a multi-platform ant colony climber, and even play with color to mix and design your own wing pattern.

Bundle up your family, get out of the house, and experience the most unique family-friendly holiday event in North Texas. On December 6 & 7, 2024 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Holidays at the Heard will bring the beauty of the holiday season into nature.

Holiday lights and décor will accentuate a lovely half-mile Heard nature trail. Your family will be enchanted by this nighttime hike through the woods. Also, you'll get a glimpse of the Dinosaurs Live! exhibit along the trail. Please note that the dinosaurs will not be animated during the event. In keeping with the Heard’s role as a nature preserve, this light display is designed to enhance, rather than overpower, the sanctuary’s natural beauty. Festive music will delight audiences under the stars in the Heard outdoor amphitheater. Watch for additional details (coming soon).

Support the Heard and have fun with the whole family at this fun, holiday fundraiser. Tickets are $17 for adults & seniors and $14 for kids 3-12 (children 2 and under are free). Tickets for Heard Museum Members are only $5 per person. 

Compost Carpool: Pumpkin Composting Drop-Off - Fort Worth

About 1 billion pounds of pumpkins are thrown away in the United States every year.

Compost Carpool is hosting a pumpkin recycling events at Mindful Market as an easy, clean and convenient way for the communities we serve to sustainably dispose of these nutrient-rich materials and turn them into compost to feed the soil and support local farms.

All sizes of pumpkins and gourds will be accepted. Please no painted, bleached, wax or glitter covered pumpkins.

Donation is requested to support our 501c3, Compost Carpool Food Project.

The Food Project supports communities that are underserved by working with local farmers, grocery stores, food suppliers and distributors to limit food waste, increase access to nutrient-rich foods and educate consumers, bridging the gap between abundance and food insecurity to improve health outcomes.
