Lights Out Texas: Fall Migration Season - Texas (Aug. 15-Nov. 30)

Aug 15 2024 - 11:00pm to Nov 30 2024 - 6:00am
Statewide TX

Lights Out Texas organizers ask that residents, building managers and businesses turn off their outdoor lights from 11 p.m. till 6 a.m. from Aug. 15 to Nov. 30 to prevent bird deaths. Outdoor lighting distracts and confuses migrating birds who typically fly at night.

Peak fall migration season is Sept. 5 to Oct. 29.

Stop Marvin Nichols: Region C Water Planning Group Public Meeting - Arlington

Sep 30 2024 - 1:00pm
North Central Texas Council of Governments
616 Six Flags Drive Counterpoint Two Building
Arlington , TX

The Region C Water Planning Group is currently working to develop the 2026 Region C Water Plan for North Central Texas, which will eventually become part of the 2027 State Water Plan. The current Region C Water Plan includes Marvin Nichols Reservoir as the highest priority future project in the Sulphur Basin.

As the Region C Water Planning Group develops their 2026 water plan, we hope they will preserve Northeast Texas and prioritize better alternatives to Marvin Nichols, like water conservation and reuse.

An agenda will be released 10 days prior to the meeting and can be found here.
