Friends of Sheri Capehart Preserve: Mindfulness and Nature Journaling - Arlington

Jun 30 2024 - 9:00am to 10:30am
Sheri Capehart Nature Preserve
5201 Bowman Springs Road
Arlington , TX

We’ll take a walk and let go of distractions and stresses. Time spent in nature benefits our mood, thinking and health, according to many research studies. We can spend some time among the trees and grasses, breathing easily and noticing what it is like to live in the present moment.

The walk is designed for adults and older children (older than 10).

While discussing and practicing mindfulness, we will walk to a couple of locations within the preserve.

We can then take a little time to reflect on what is around us and within us, writing or drawing in a nature journal. Doing this helps us organize our thoughts, adds to our self-understanding, and may benefit our mental wellness in other ways.

Bring a notebook and pen and/or pencil.

Please check back to see how the weather is shaping up that day. We'll reschedule if there are storms.

The walk leader is Michael Smith, an author, naturalist and retired mental health professional. (This event is for nature appreciation and wellness and is not therapy)
