The Beautify Texas Awards recognize efforts made by individuals and organizations to enhance their communities and protect Texas’ environment. These awards honor extraordinary volunteers, professionals, youth, educators, businesses, local/civic governments, organizations, and specific projects and programs. They are organized into two main categories, Individual Awards and Organizational Awards.

Observe birds at home, in parks or your other favorite places for as little as 15 minutes. Identify them, count them and submit them to help scientists better understand and protect birds around the world. If you already use eBird or Merlin, your submissions over the four days count towards GBBC.

Guest speaker Adam Black.
Adam Black is currently the Director of Horticulture and Plant Conservation at Bartlett Tree Research Laboratories and Arboretum in Charlotte, NC. A former Texas resident, he remains very active with collaborative ex-situ conservation of the state’s many imperiled plant species. In addition to extensive familiarity of the southern US flora, he has been involved in field work and plant explorations in New Caledonia, Taiwan, The Philippines, South Africa and beyond.
