Dallas Arboretum: Dallas Blooms - Dallas (Feb. 25-April 16)

Dallas Blooms, the largest floral festival in the Southwest, returns February 25-April 16, with 500,000 spring-blooming bulbs, thousands of azaleas and hundreds of Japanese cherry trees and a new exhibition of Gary Lee Price’s Great Contributors, including Ruby Bridges, Harriet Tubman, Mother Teresa and Amelia Earhart.

The Rory Meyers Children's Adventure Garden also reopens on Feb. 25.

Lights Out Texas (March 1-June 15)

Lights Out Texas is a campaign of education, awareness, and action that focuses on turning out lights at night during the spring and fall migrations to help protect the billions of migratory birds that fly over Texas annually.

Lights Out Texas advocates say darkening city skies is most crucial during spring migration's peak.

  • Full Migration Period: March 1 – June 15 

  • Critical Peak Migration Period: April 22 – May 12

Tarrant County Master Gardeners Association: Plant Sale - Online (March 20-April 17)

The online plant sale is open to both TCMGA membership and the public. Check out both our Wholesale Nursery Perennials and TCMGA Demonstration Garden Greenhouse Plants. Some plants have a limited availability So for the best selection, order early. Disclaimer: Due to unforeseen circumstances (weather, failure to thrive, insect related damage, etc.), a refund for unfulfilled orders will be given close to the time of pick-up.

Pick-up date is April 28, 8 a.m. to noon.

Native Plant Society of Texas: Native Texas Plant Sales - Statewide (Thru May 6)

Each spring and fall, Society volunteers plan and host native plant sales. Texas native plants can be difficult to find at the typical nursery, so these sales are crucial to promoting the conservation, research, and utilization of native plants in Texas yards and landscapes.

See upcoming native plant sales in North Texas in this list compiled by the Native Plant Society of Texas.  If you don’t see a plant sale near you right now, check back later because NPSOT will be adding sale dates as they learn about them. Here are some of the North Texas plant sales:

McKinney 

April 22 – 23: Times vary. At Heard Museum (1 Nature Place, McKinney). Hosted by Collin County Chapter. 

Flower Mound 

April 29: 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Flower Mound High School (3411 Peters Colony Rd., Flower Mound). Hosted by Trinity Forks Chapter. The sale will be in the back parking lot, corner of Old Settlers and Sagebrush. 

Dallas

May 6: 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. at Native Plants and Prairies Day, Bath House Cultural Center (512 East Lawther Dr., Dallas). Hosted by Dallas Chapter. 

Arlington

May 6: 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Elm Grove Pavilion, River Legacy Park (701 NW Green Oaks Blvd., Arlington). Hosted by North Central Chapter.

Fort Worth Botanic Garden: Spring Plant Sale - Fort Worth (April 7-8)

FWBG's Spring Plant Sale features expert staff on hand to answer all of your plant questions and help you find the plants that will work best in your yard. Bring  your own wagon if you have one to transport your new plants to your vehicle. Events take place in The Grove area. To reach the Grove free of charge, visitors must park in Parking Lot D (3408 West Freeway, 76108) and enter through the Lot D Gate.

General Public Sale: Friday, April 7, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, April 8, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
