Dallas Blooms, the largest floral festival in the Southwest, returns February 25-April 16, with 500,000 spring-blooming bulbs, thousands of azaleas and hundreds of Japanese cherry trees and a new exhibition of Gary Lee Price’s Great Contributors, including Ruby Bridges, Harriet Tubman, Mother Teresa and Amelia Earhart.

The Rory Meyers Children's Adventure Garden also reopens on Feb. 25.

Lights Out Texas (March 1-June 15)

Lights Out Texas is a campaign of education, awareness, and action that focuses on turning out lights at night during the spring and fall migrations to help protect the billions of migratory birds that fly over Texas annually.

Lights Out Texas advocates say darkening city skies is most crucial during spring migration's peak.

  • Critical Peak Migration Period: April 22 – May 12

Please join us to learn about the fascinating world of lichens in the BRIT Lecture mini-series, Lichen Week! Lectures will be held on Monday, March 13, and Friday, March 17. 

Monday Alice Gerlach, PhD, will be presenting “The genus Usnea in the southern Philippines: first phylogenetic approach.” Friday Natalia Koch, PhD, will be presenting “Lichen functional traits as ecological indicators.”
