Dallas Blooms, the largest floral festival in the Southwest, returns February 25-April 16, with 500,000 spring-blooming bulbs, thousands of azaleas and hundreds of Japanese cherry trees and a new exhibition of Gary Lee Price’s Great Contributors, including Ruby Bridges, Harriet Tubman, Mother Teresa and Amelia Earhart.

The Rory Meyers Children's Adventure Garden also reopens on Feb. 25.

Lights Out Texas (March 1-June 15)

Lights Out Texas is a campaign of education, awareness, and action that focuses on turning out lights at night during the spring and fall migrations to help protect the billions of migratory birds that fly over Texas annually.

Lights Out Texas advocates say darkening city skies is most crucial during spring migration's peak.

  • Critical Peak Migration Period: April 22 – May 12

About Our Presenter: Philip earned a Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering in 1995 from the University of Texas at Arlington. He's a Texas Electrical Master Electrician and currently teaches at Collin College in robotics and automation. Philip's areas of specialization include electrical power, renewable energy, instrumentation & controls, programmable logic, and robotics.
