Liveable Arlington: EPA Methane Rule Public Comment Deadline - Feb. 13

Feb 1 2023 - 7:00pm to Feb 13 2023 - 11:45pm
Online TX

From Liveable Arlington: The EPA recently issued an updated draft rule to cut methane and other harmful emissions from new and existing oil and gas operations. The proposed rule builds on the draft released in 2021 and incorporates community feedback, an important step toward further safeguarding public health and addressing the emissions that affect climate change.

Express your support for the incorporation of feedback during the last comment cycle and push the EPA to go further with a few more regulatory provisions. Review our action toolkit, write your comment letter and send your letter to the EPA via the website link below.

Fort Worth Audubon Society: Winter Finch Forecasting - Zoom

Feb 9 2023 - 7:00pm
Zoom TX

Synopsis: It’s a conversation that comes up each autumn, as soon as temperatures dip and migrants start heading south, "Will this be a year when winter finches grace our county or better yet-our feeders?" For many birdwatchers, their once-every-few-years appearance seems like a mix of mystery and serendipity. But there’s a science to it. It was long-time finch forecaster Ron Pittaway who helped crystallize the connections between the trees in Canada and the movements of birds such as crossbills, redpolls, finches, and other irruptive species. Ron has now passed the baton to our speaker.

About the speaker: Tyler Hoar is a freelance biologist and ecologist from Oshawa, Ontario, Canada, who’s spent his career traversing the Canadian landscape to observe the natural world.
