Northern Trinity GCD: Rain Barrell Giveaway - Tarrant County Residents Only

The Northern Trinity GCD (NTGCD) is encouraging residents to save groundwater by offering two free 50-gallon rain barrels on Nov. 12 to residents of Tarrant County. Rainwater harvesting is recommended by the Texas Water Development Board and is a great way to save water for irrigation and other outdoor uses.

Presenter: Larry Bentley, Engineers Without Borders

About Presentation: The La Fe community of about 115 families currently has been served with a very limited shared system from another community allowing them access to water about 1 day a week. Engineers Without Borders-USA adopted the project to design and install a solar/hybrid pumping system to pump water from a spring the community had purchased.

About Our Presenter: Larry Bentley is a retired engineer who has used his expertise to assist communities in 20 developing countries in Latin America, Africa and Asia. Larry won EWB’s Founder Award in 2014 for his efforts, and currently serves on the organization’s Standing Content Committees for both Energy and Water.
