Suzanne Tuttle is leading this walk in Unit 71 at the LBJ National Grasslands northwest of Decatur.
Participants will have the opportunity to compare two major plant communities native to this region - the Fort Worth Prairie and the Western Cross Timbers. The landscape is rich and varied, and each participant will be able to tailor their walk to suit their own interests and capabilities.
We will meet at 9 a.m. at the Shell gas station, 2105 South College Ave, Decatur, at the NE corner of US Hwy 287 and FM 730. From there we will caravan to Unit 71. Be sure to dress appropriately for the weather and wear close-toed shoes. Afterwards participants may choose to have lunch together at one of the many choices in Decatur to continue our fellowship.
