Want to take your audience camping with our gear? Texas Parks & Wildlife Department's Texas Outdoor Family Program wants to help you provide camping workshops for your participants in Texas State Parks. Below you will find information about our community partnership program and Free Outdoor Leadership Training scheduled for Nov. 18-20, 2022 at Cleburne State Park.

The Texas Outdoor Family Community Partnership Program provides group camping gear and will teach you how to lead successful camping programs for your audience in state parks. Organizations who represent a low-income demographic (50 percent of participants are eligible for free or reduced lunches), veterans affairs, or are the recipients of Texas Parks and Wildlife Department CO-OP grants are eligible to take part in the community partnership initiative. We partner with many schools, parks, veteran's groups, and non-profits in the DFW area. We would be thrilled to add a partnership with you. Feel free to share this with others in your organization who may be interested. Check out our Community Partner website for more details.

Outdoor Leadership Training is designed to prepare you to host a successful overnight camping adventure with your audience. While we require all partner groups to send at least one leader, please know that you do not have to be in a community partnership to attend. We welcome both partner organizations and excited volunteers to apply for this free training. Given class size limitations, not all applicants will be accepted. To apply please visit our Outdoor Leadership Training event page, read through the course details and FAQ’s, then select the application link at the bottom of that page. If your organization restricts clicking on email links, feel free to Google “Texas Outdoor Family calendar” and you will find our training information. Applications are due Nov. 1.
