Communities Foundation of Texas’ North Texas Giving Day is an 18-hour online giving event designed to empower every person to give back to their community. Choose among hundreds of local nonprofits to donate to, including dozens of environmental and animal welfare groups. Matching funds are used to encourage donations. Early donations welcome too.

North Texas Giving Day - Online (Deadline Sept. 22)
Lights Out Texas - Statewide (Sept. 6-Oct. 29)
Lights Out Texas is an intiative launched by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology with support from nonprofits including the Texas Conservation Alliance and Texan by Nature to raise awareness about the dangers of light pollution for migrating birds.
The program asks homeowners, businesses and managers of tall buildings to eliminate or reduce lighting between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. during the peak of the fall migration, Sept. 6 to Oct. 29, 2022.
Trinity Trash Bash: Cedar Creek Lake
Volunteers are needed to participate in litter cleanup, hosted by Tarrant Regional Water District, at the following locations:
Sept. 10 at Lake Bridgeport
Sept. 17 at Eagle Mountain Lake
Sept. 17 at Trinity River in Fort Worth
Sept. 24 at Cedar Creek Lake

Dallas Sierra Club: Trinity River Crew - Farmers Branch
Learn about The Trinity River Crew! A joint Conservation Corps program of Greenspace Dallas and Trinity Park Conservancy, the Crew provides meaningful, paid conservation work experience, education, leadership skills, and professional development training to high potential use from historically marginalized areas along the Trinity River. The program also creates a collaborative use employment framework that can act as a model throughout the entire Trinity River corridor.
Organized for their science based and result driven approach to conservation (along with the ability to positively impact people, prosperity, and natural resources), The Trinity River Crew is an inspiring group of young people changing their world.
