Walk among the wildflowers during our Spring Tours of the Clymer Meadow Preserve. Don’t miss your chance to visit this picturesque 1,450-acre preserve, which contains one of the last remnants of the Blackland Prairie— an imperiled ecosystem comprised of numerous bird, butterfly and wildflower species. You’ll immerse yourself in the beauty and color of true Texas prairie while learning about the history and ecology of our native grasslands. Grab your binoculars and camera, pack a picnic lunch, and get back to nature.

You have four opportunities to visit the Preserve:

On Texas Arbor Day weekend, Nov. 6-7, over 120 volunteers gathered on the banks of Wilson Creek in Mckinney to protect water quality and strengthen the environment. They planted over 1,600 flood-adapted native trees to reduce erosion and mitigate the impacts of stormwater runoff into lavon lake, the primary water source for 2 million North Texans.
