Walk among the wildflowers during our Spring Tours of the Clymer Meadow Preserve. Don’t miss your chance to visit this picturesque 1,450-acre preserve, which contains one of the last remnants of the Blackland Prairie— an imperiled ecosystem comprised of numerous bird, butterfly and wildflower species. You’ll immerse yourself in the beauty and color of true Texas prairie while learning about the history and ecology of our native grasslands. Grab your binoculars and camera, pack a picnic lunch, and get back to nature.

You have four opportunities to visit the Preserve:

9 a.m. - April 23 – Celebrate Earth Day on the Prairie!    RSVP by 4/18
9 a.m. - May 14 – Dickcissel Spring Tour    RSVP by 5/9
9 a.m. - May 21 – Spring Wildflower Tour (36th Year!)   RSVP by 5/16
8 a.m. - June 18 – Prairie Rose Tour    RSVP by 6/13

Tours will meet at different locations – information will be sent with RSVP confirmation. We recommend wearing a hat, long pants and closed-toed shoes. You may also wish to bring insect repellent, sunscreen, a hat, binoculars, camera, lunch, and a water bottle. Tours are rain or shine!

(There will be a parking attendant structure as you drive in.) Park anywhere, even spots marked “reserved” as our meetings are outside of normal school hours. Enter the RES building ground floor at the northwest corner of this parking lot, turn right and go down the hall keeping the south-facing windows on your right. We’ll be in the first lecture hall you come to, with a prominent FWAS sign.
