Dallas Blooms is the largest annual floral festival in the Southwest. Presented by Veritex Community Bank, Dallas Blooms will feature larger-than-life peacock topiaries along with more than 500,000 spring blooming bulbs to create the largest and most colorful floral display in the Southwest. An explosion of spring flowers comes from 100 varieties of spring bulbs, thousands of azaleas and hundreds of Japanese cherry trees.

Fort Worth Botanic Garden/BRIT: Butterflies in the Garden - Fort Worth

The Fort Worth Botanic Garden hosts the largest exhibit of live, exotic butterflies in north central Texas with the Butterflies in the Garden exhibit in the Fort Worth Botanic Garden’s Rainforest Conservatory.

Cost: Tickets for timed entrance are currently for sale online. Admission is $12 for ages 16-64; $10 for seniors (65+); $8 for ages 6-15; and free for children under five.

For those who want to visit both the Garden and the butterfly exhibit, the price is $18 for adults and seniors and $10 for children. 

School groups of 20 or more may purchase tickets in advance for $8 per person. FWBG|BRIT members receive a discounted price of $10 for adults, $8 for seniors, and $6 for children.  

North Texas Unitarian Universalist Congregations: Ned Fritz Scholarship - Deadline May 1

Honoring long-time Unitarian Universalist and environmental activist Ned Fritz, these scholarships have been awarded to graduating high school seniors who attend a Unitarian Universalist congregation in North Texas. Meant for students who intend to study environmental subjects, or related fields, working toward a career focused on improving, protecting, or preserving the environment.

Green Source DFW: Oak Cliff Earth Day - Dallas

After a two-year hiatus, Green Source DFW and the Memnosyne Institute are gearing up to host the 13th annual Oak Cliff Earth Day on April 3, 2022 from noon to 5 p.m. at Lake Cliff Park in Dallas.

Oak Cliff Earth Day will feature a diverse line-up of entertainment, environmental education booths and green vendors along with food and fun for the kids. As a special feature this year, Oak Cliff Earth Day will promote the message: “Environmental Justice for All” with a slate of speakers on the topic.

Vendor space is $55 on or before March 7. Nonprofits can register for $30 and Dallas County and city groups can register at no charge. Food vendors pay $75. There is a $10 increase for registration after March 7.
