U.S. Fish & Wildlife: Monthly Bird Walk - SIGN UP!

Join a USFWS Bird Walk for naturalists of all ages who want hands-on education about North Texas birds. 

The birders will meet on Fridays or Saturdays at 8:45 a.m. and begin walking at 9 a.m.. We will be birding for about an hour. Locations will be in DFW, and emailed out prior to meeting. Small groups or families can also bird by appointment. 

Children 18 and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. All participants must wear a mask. We will be social distancing. Bring water and snacks, if needed. 

Bring bug spray, sunscreen, and a pencil if you would like. We will provide some binoculars, but if you have your own that’s great! A smartphone or camera is also very useful for birding.

Drive-thru recycling event.This year's event is scaled down to three popular collections:

    •    Electronics Recycling - Accepted electronics are almost anything with a plug or powered by batteries. Some items may require a disposal fee (cash or check). Review the complete list of accepted items and fees.

    •    Paper Shredding - Free, onsite document shredding is limited to two banker's boxes per household. 

    •    Bicycles - Bikes for Tykes refurbishes bicycles to give to people in need. They accept child and adult bicycles, operational or not.

Residents are required to remain in their vehicles. Masks are mandatory for residents and staff.

Visit for donation details of gently-used prescription eyeglasses and sunglasses, knitting yarn and supplies, sporting goods, pet supplies, durable medical equipment and more.

DFW Area Beekeeping Conference: Intro to Beekeeping - Online

DFW Area Beekeeping Conference is a biannual event put on by Metro Beekeepers Association of Fort Worth and Trinity Valley Beekeepers Association of Dallas. Due to limitations on in-person events this year will be a scaled-down 1-day 5-session online event focused on catering to new and prospective beekeepers, and will be provided free of charge.

Lion Electric Company is an innovative Quebec-based manufacturer of zero-emission all-electric utility vehicles from school buses to urban trucks.  They design, manufacture and assemble their vehicles from the chassis, to battery packs, cabin and powertrain.

Larry Braswell and RickLee of Lion Electric Company, will present Ev Technology, The Path to the Future. Together they will provide an overview of Lion Electric Company as well as a detailed look at their fleet of urban utility vehicles and what plans they have for Texas.
