Mary Anne Mayer Redmond, CFP® RFC®  ** takes the job of wealth management services to individuals around the country seriously. The Dallas born, current Addison resident also takes the act of green living seriously too.

So much, in fact, that she has combined the two and in her wealth management services to her clients she also offers sustainable and green investing choices among the resources she makes available.

“I believe that our investing dollars can make a difference in how companies operate with regard to sustainable [ecological, social] practices,” Redmond says.  “I also believe that there’s a deeply personal value to encompassing conscious sustainable investing choices in one’s life.”

Redmond says that in a nutshell her job is to find resources that fit her client’s needs.

“Mine is a balanced approach that aims for my clients to feel more confident and assured about their portfolio choices,” she says.

It was a friend who was the CEO of an insurance marketing firm who gave Redmond her start in his company, but she says it didn’t take long for her to discover her passion for providing consultative support to individuals in regard to smart investment choices.

Add to that her eco-friendly bent.

“I think eco-friendly life involves an attitude that makes a difference, gratitude plus care for God-given resources and that equals a contribution in an intangible sense, to the greater planetary consciousness as well as personal well-being.”

Redmond also believes that intelligent use of resources, including how people are treated in the work environment also equal more efficient and effective human culture that goes much further in the big picture.

“I think appreciation and even reverence for Mother Earth is important in what heretofore, in my opinion, has been a predominantly yang, often destructive, civilization,” she explains.

In business for about 21 years, Redmond is not only earth friendly in her business life, but in her personal life too, recycling everything she can, not using herbicides in her yard and growing, almost exclusively, native Texas plants in her yard too.

Redmond says she buys wind and solar electricity, takes her dry cleaning to Eco Cleaners in Dallas, uses almost exclusively eco-friendly housecleaning products, wears no synthetic fragrances and pays attention to everything from the fabric softener sheets she uses on her clothes to the paint on her walls. Whether it's furniture or beauty products, she makes sure it’s all eco-friendly.

“In 1969, when I was 14, I invited a man from the EPA, to come speak about pollution to a Girls’ Club meeting. Two years later I testified at an EPA hearing on urban planning and noise abatement,” Redmond says of one of her first eco-friendly experiences.

At that meeting Redmond says she admonished the man from EPA, who by then was director of the EPA’s Air Pollution Department in Dallas, for not offering ideas at that prior meeting when he was asked what young people could do about pollution.

Redmond says even today she is still perceiving gaps and looking to move things along both personally and professionally in regard to what eco-wise choices and practices are overall.

“It’s not so much that the EPA incident has affected my choices today,” Redmond said, “It’s that I’m still basically the same, committed to what, in my opinion, simply makes sense, which is living with a foremost commitment to respecting and harmonizing with the natural environment.”
