The Green Source DFW Environmental  Leadership Awards are presented by the Memnosyne Foundation to recognize people and groups in the Dallas - Fort Worth area for their exceptional leadership in the enhancement and protection of the environment. There are three categories:

• Volunteer

• Entrepreneur

• Grass Roots Non-Profit Group or Organization

The winning organization or group will receive a $500 contribution.
The volunteer and entrepreneur each will receive $250 donated to the nonprofit group of their choice. The form for nominations can be filled out online or sent to

The nomination period runs until Jan. 15.
Voting will begin Jan. 16 and run until Feb. 12.

The top three in each category will be given to a panel of judges who aill select the winner.

We encourage you to take a moment to nominate an organization, volunteer, or entrepreneur you feel is doing important work. To help you we've come up with the following criteria. Nominate today if you know a volunteer, entrepreneur, or grass roots non-profit who:

1) As a Volunteer engages in activities outside their regular work schedule that yield notable benefits to the environment, environmental organizations, or the 'green' movement at-large in DFW.

2) As an entrepreneur displays a willingness to try and offer new and creative ideas that affect meaningful improvements/progress in green product or service offerings in the DFW. This person would be a good problem solver, resourceful, and producer of a product or coordinated a service which acts as a good steward of environmental resources.

3) As a Grass Roots Non-Profit Group or Organization enhances cooperation of disparate groups towards a common goal, in the process demonstrating a meaningful impact on policies, neighborhoods, or other groups in the area of environmental sustainability.

The Green Source DFW Environmental awards will be presented in February at Green Source DFW's first anniversary gathering. For more information contact Green Source DFW's editor Phillip Shinoda at:
