This regional event will celebrate the Ray Roberts Greenbelt through experiential outdoor activities, live music and good food. Attendees can test their skills at archery, climbing, kayaking, biking, and geo-caching; view demonstrations by historians and craftsmen of the Cross Timbers eco-region; or take a carriage ride down the Greenbelt Trail. Kids will enjoy birds of prey and reptile exhibits, pony rides, Backyard Bass competition and an inflatable obstacle course and slide. GreenFest will emphasize outdoor fun, respect for nature and boating and water safety.

Greenfest 2014 is organized by the Greenbelt Alliance of Denton County, together with Texas Parks and Wildlife and the City of Denton. Proceeds will go toward reopening the equestrian trail between Highways 428 and 455, repairing Greenbelt restrooms, installation of a wetland viewing deck and trail, if approved by the USACE, and support of the Greenbelt Alliance, a non-profit organization dedicated to stewardship of the Lewisville/Ray Roberts Greenbelt.

Grammy award-winning Brave Combo will be performing from 4-6pm. Other acts TBA.
