The last couple of years have seen the Dallas environmental scene blossom and mature. Now many of us want to take the next step by forming a city-wide “Dallas green alliance.” We plan on creating a 501(c)3 arm and a 501(c)4 or even a PAC that will have the political power to build it, election by election.

The proposed meeting agenda includes:

•Introductions: Council members Philip Kingston, Adam Medrano and Scott Griggs have agreed to attend

•An overview of recent elections and a preview of 2015, when almost half of the Dallas City Council seats will be up for grabs

•A run-down of current green issues before the Council and the help needed to push them along

•Brainstorming session on our platform and a name for the group

•The first steps we need to take to make our 501(c)3 and 501(c)4/PAC official

•Going through the 2015 Council races district by district, identifying supportive candidates and races where we need better candidates

•Sketching out a working calendar from now until next May

•Fundraising commitments for the 501(c)4/PAC

•Discussion on who needs to be here but isn't, assignments to recruit other supporters

•Set our next meeting date
