Saint Michael's Farmer's Market - Dallas

The Saint Michael’s Farmers Market will be a Saturday morning gathering place for residents of the Park Cities, Preston Hollow, Uptown and North Dallas.  Open from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon every Saturday through the Fall, the market will feature farm-grown produce, vegetables, and fruit, as well as numerous specialty foods.

We welcome farmers and growers who practice natural, sustainable, organic farming.  The products must come from within a 150 mile radius of Dallas County to assure freshness.  Special foods such as baked goods, tamales, cheeses, eggs, local honey, meats, and pastas will also be available.  All vendors must grow, produce, or make at least 60% of what they sell at the Saint Michael Farmers Market.

Grand Prairie Farmers Market features fresh fruits and vegetables, baked goods, coffee, tea, tamales, jellies and relishes, grass-fed meats, homemade soaps, candles and more.

The Grand Prairie Farmers Market is open March 31, 2012 through December on Saturdays 8 a.m.-1 p.m. at Market Square, 120 W. Main St., in downtown Grand Prairie. Water Conservation Symposium Set for Thursday in Waco

 The Lone Star Chapter of the Sierra Club and a number of other organizations are sponsoring a Brazos Valley Water Conservation Symposium in Waco this Thursday, June 21 to highlight the ways in which the region may meet its water needs through enhanced water conservation. The symposium, subtitled “The Business Case for Water Conservation,” is aimed at water utility professionals and local decision-makers but the general public is welcome to attend. Co-sponsors of the symposium include the national Alliance for Water Efficiency, the Brazos River Authority, the City of Waco, the National Wildlife Federation, and the Texas Water Foundation.

 Family Fun on the Square explores the treasures you can find and the fun you can have in historic Downtown Garland. Bring the whole family for a day of shopping, dining, music, games and more! C B Luce & The Garland Opry will be performing county rock music on the Downtown Square, while the kids enjoy bounce houses, games, face painting and prizes. Several antique and furniture shops are within walking distance, as are a variety of great restaurants for lunch.

There will be a free showing of "Some Like It Hot," starring Marilyn Monroe, Jack Lemmon and Tony Curtis, at 10:00 a.m. at the Plaza Theatre. Doors open at 9:30 a.m. and refreshments will be sold. Everything is free and includes activities for all ages.
